We are rapidly growing in our understanding of the “gut” (the digestive system) and its impact on ideal health. At one point, the gut was considered to be merely an elimination system for undigested food, but now we know the critical roles it plays in nutrient absorption and immune system function. We are also realizing the importance of good bacteria and how stress can impact the function of this system.

With all this knowledge comes the increasing concern over the growing rates of digestive disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s Disease, leaky gut, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). These diseases can leave individuals in chronic pain, constantly seeking restrooms, unable to eat a multitude of foods, and unable to enjoy time with family and friends. In severe cases, sufferers are virtually homebound and face drastic treatments such as bowel resections and colostomies.

According to a 2012 study, a contributing factor in the symptoms of IBS was the displacement of intervertebral discs and (or) vertebra in the thoracic or lumbar region, and chiropractic treatment was effective for relieving the symptoms associated with IBS. Correcting the displacement of the vertebra and (or) intervertebral discs resolves the stimuli caused by pressure exerted on the nerves and vessels around the spine.

The nutritional connection between digestive issues and diet is well understood. By implementing the proper whole food program along with adequate hydration and exercise, individuals are seeing remarkable results.

By combining these two treatments along with personalized coaching, patients are reporting extraordinary and sometimes almost immediate results! When applied over time, patients are claiming to experience increased energy, normal bowel movements, decreased bloating, and improved immune system function! Many patients are returning to their proper body weight, as well.
